Forty nine per cent Kimabu voters would pick Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu as Governor, a poll has found, and given incumbent William Kabogo a 22 per cent rating.
The poll by Tifa Research further found that 44 per cent of youths aged 18-30 support Waititu, compared to Kabogo’s 25 per cent.
The two have been embroiled in an intense rivalry that has seen them question each others’ academic backgrounds.
In April, Waititu has told Kabogo to find other ways of thwarting his bid for the county seat after floundering in his challenge on the former’s academic qualifications.
Tifa also reported that eight per cent of Kiambu constituents would vote for James Nyoro – former advisor in the office of Deputy President William Ruto.
It was also reported that aspirants Gakuru Kanyingi and David Githii would get one per cent votes each and that 18 per cent of Kiambu residents were undecided.
The poll results announced on Monday indicated 62 per cent participants said they were undecided about the woman representative race.
Incumbent Ann Nyokabi topped the list of candidates with 28 per cent support.
The poll also indicated Kimani Wamatangi would retain his seat as Kiambu Senator (44 per cent), the highest in the three areas participants were drawn from. Forty six per cent voters were undecided.
Tifa reported that at least 36 per cent of Nairobi residents would vote for Governor Evans Kidero if the general election was held today. Thirty per cent residents indicated they would vote for Senator Mike Sonko.
Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and Water CS Eugene Wamalwa came third with one per cent each.
Seventeen per cent of city residents were undecided on who they would vote for in the contest.
Only 33 per cent participants said they believed the county was heading in the right direction and 36 believe its headed in the wrong direction.
The poll also showed that Kidero had more female supporters and Sonko more male supporters.
In the Senator race, Tifa reported that 39 per cent would vote for Sonko while Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro would get nine per cent votes.
Former Cabinet minister and nominated senator Beth Mugo came third with 8 per cent while 31 per cent were undecided.
Esther Passaris would be the next Nairobi women representative (28 per cent support) followed by the incumbent Rachael Shebesh (20 per cent).
Two per cent believed that aspirants Milicent Omanga and Wambui Nganga would be the new woman representativeswhile one per cent said they would vote for Sylvia Ming’ala and Karen Nyamu. Forty three per cent were undecided.
