Cases of criminals drugging their victims in Kenya must be at an all-time high. Criminals who use this particular tactic to rob unsuspecting victims have moved from the nightclubs and are roaming the streets, boarding matatus with you, selling stuff to you and looking to drug you in broad daylight.
Most recently, a lady made headlines after she fell unconscious from a flier she received while stuck in traffic along Uhuru Highway. She was one of the few lucky ones after she was saved by onlookers and police officers.
The drug used by these criminals has been identified as Scopolamine but is colloquially known as ‘The Devil’s Breath.’ It is said to be the most dangerous drug in the world as it eliminates free will and can wipe the memory of its victims.
The drug is said to turn people into zombies and blocks memories from forming. So even after the drug wears off, victims have no recollection as to what happened.
‘Mulika,’ an online platform that exposes the tricks that conmen use in Nairobi, has shared a video on Facebook illustrating how the drug works.
