Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyokaย ought to be grateful to Presidentย Uhuru Kenyatta,ย ย Turkana South Member of Parliamentย James Lomenenย has opined.
The legislator hit out at the former Vice President for failure to acknowledge the support offered to his son by Jubilee MPsย during East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) elections.
MP Lomenen was responding after Kalonzo announced NASAs swearing-in ceremony upon his arrival from Germany.
โJubilee MPs supported bothย Kennedy Kalonzoย andย Oburu Odingaย to secure their positions atย EALA,ย and I am shocked when Kalonzo returned to the country and instead of holding a press conference to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta, he went ahead announcing swearing-in plans,โ lamented Lomenen.
He further advised the NASA coprincipal to withdraw from the swearing-in plot on account of the goodwill shown by the ruling party.
A day after he returned from Germany with his ailing wife,ย Kalonzo declared that he would be sworn inย alongside Raila Odinga if President Kenyatta does not engage the Opposition in talks.
โI am telling my brother Uhuru Kenyatta if he abdicates the responsibility of uniting this nation, he should not blame Raila and Kalonzo when we say there will be a swearing-in ceremony,โ Kalonzo stated.
Mr Lomenen also took a swipe at Nasa leader Raila Odinga accusing the former Prime Minister of manipulating Kenyans with lies.
โKenya is not on lease. It is Kalonzo and Raila who are on lease seeking for power by force. Kenyans are ready to move now that politics is over,โthe MP argued.
The Oppositionย coalition has since announced plans to set upย a parallel government beginning with theย naming of a cabinet by Odinga.
โWithin the first week of the New Year, we will unveil a program for civil disobedience, peaceful protests, non-cooperation with and resistance to an illegitimate regime in addition to Peopleโs Assemblies,โ Odinga stated in his New Yearโs message to Kenyans.
