Anne Kansiime loses millions, forced to open new IG account
Ugandan comedienne Anne Kansiime has been forced to open a new Instagram account after hackers took control of her old account.
With a following of over 250K on her IG, Kansiime is recounting losses and for that matter she is not a happy woman.
“My Instagram handle was @Kansiime256, I had over 250,000 followers. One moment I got a phone call from a friend asking what’s wrong with my account. I get my phone, went to the account and it is showing me zero followers, I am following zero people and even the profile picture is gone. It like they put it back to factory setting,’’ disclosed Kansiime.
The comedian added that she was hurt.
‘’I couldn’t believe I had zero followers on social media. Right now social media is a big deal when you want to advertise, it’s a big deal when you talking to advertisers for me to lose something like that. I am hurt,’’ she added.
Unlike Zari who retrieved her account hours after it was inaccessible, the hackers were demanding for a payout of $4,000 in bitcoins.
Not yielding to their demands, the hackers went on a rampage in Zari’s account, posting pornography and photos of her bitter rival Hamisa Mobetto.
Kansiime has advised her fans to be vigilant attaching a screen shot of a phishing email she received from the hackers asking her to verify her account.
“A very closer look at the email that will allow hackers access to your Instagram account and take over your account. Please be vigilant my ninjas don’t ignore but block and delete them.Love you,’’ she posted.
Since opening a new account the queen of comedy is already going strong with over 5K followers.
“In just 3 days we are a family of 5570 ninjas. I don’t know what I did to deserve you my lovers. #sharedblessings indeed.Thank you.’’
