Kenya’s athlete Geoffrey Kamworor has excited many after winning a Half Marathon race in the United Kingdom having fallen at the start.

Kamworor who defended his Cardiff Marathon title withstood running with injured knees in a rainy weather, beating thousands of competitors to clinch the Gold medal.

The athlete started the competition on the wrong foot after tripping in a heavily crowded starting line up, before being picked up by a fellow competitor.

However, a resilient Kamworor dusted himself then bypassed his opponents to finally take control of the 21-kilometre race winning it in under one hour.

His brave achievement was commended, with Kenyans led by President Uhuru Kenyatta appreciating him for flying the country’s flag high.
