Prophet Kanyari, a man who purported to be a staunch man of God was exposed by Jicho Pevu towards the end of 2014. As a fake, twisted con-artist who was preying on the naivety of his followers for financial gain.
On the harrowing video expose laced with shocking confessions from part of his team, it was laid bare how his church obtained money from worshipers in the pretence that they would receive miracles.
Kenyans across all social platforms took up arms, angry at the tom-foolery, the A-class thievery and unbeaten con artistry. They threatened to lynch him. Small talk that was.
It was a spectacle to watch. The man of God, cornered and embarrassed ran for the hills afraid that the public would lynch him.
No one lynched him. As a matter of fact, he returned quietly to his church where a legion of his followers, partners-in-crime were waiting for him. His ministry of fake potassium-manganate 7 was up again.
To date, the pastor drives among other cars, a Range Rover and a Toyota V8. Two cars whose prices fall a few thousands off the KSh 20 million mark.
A handful of followers left his church after the expose. They were replaced ironically, by a hundred-fold others who were seemingly duped to think that the expose ran by KTN was stage managed and orchestrated to malign a man of God.
No one went forth to press charges against the prophet. Not even the woman whose breasts he fondled right in front of his circus of followers.
In 2015, the prophet despite turning down an interview at the NTV’s Trend, showed up for Churchill Show. A local comedy show where we thoroughly laughed with the man who was playing God.
In addition to his fleet of cars, the controversial man of God is building himself a haven along Knagundo road. A multi-million, imposing palace that has become quite the spectacle.

The bishop was previously married to Betty Bayo, a popular gospel singer. They separated in 2015 amicably with Bayo moving on and getting a child with another man.
