The immediate former Kenya Power Managing Director Ben Chumo’s nomination by President Uhuru Kenyatta to Chair the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has been rejected by parliamentary committee on Finance and National Planning.
Chumo, was yesterday put on spot by Nyali Member of Parliament Hon. Mohammed Ali over corruption allegations, economic crimes allegations and abuse of office at the Kenya Power.
The committee, however, noted that Dr Chumo had the right academic and professional qualification for the job but did not make the cut on ethical and integrity grounds.
News of Chumo’s rejection were immediately picked up by Kenyans on social media who had the following reactions on the matter;
